Mombasa Weekend

A good weekend spent with friends and colleagues .

Saturday night birthday celebration at our Mombasa flat for Pankaj wife, Richa  and with Sachit their 3 year old son, also with  Gurpreet who recently joined our company as COO and of course with wife Emie and our ever spoiled brat Jimboh.

It was a night of freshly cooked special chapati complemented by good tasting , spicy Indian side dish.  Emie had also prepared her special bread crumbed fried chicken legs. A few cans of lager beer and a half a bottle of whisky which happens to be Pankaj favorite.

As expected Pankaj,  invited the group for a recap in one of Mombasa's attraction  called Florida ( a night club with a casino). I finally agreed to go just so not too spoil the night.  On the way , we had dropped Gurpreet at his hotel,  and redirected our driver, to bring us instead at an equally famous casino nearby Nakkumat Cinemax , Nyali. The casino was full of foreigners as expected  , though i am not really a casino fanatic, i enjoyed watching Pankaj and Emie play and loose their hard earned money :).

Sunday was  spent at an open cricket arena, giving support to the company cricket  team. The opposing team from Kapric also a manufacturing company like ours Mega, and also based in Mombasa.Their players looked liked a formidable team to beat. Yes indeed, it beat our team with no fanfare. This leaves our company team Mega battling for  third place position this coming next Sunday.

Mombasa , and about 7 hours away from capital Nairobi, is a seaport area and and of the busiest ports. Its tropical weather and yet the cool breeze in the evening makes it an ideal place to live in.
We took our siesta in the afternoon and feeling relaxed for the rest of the day.

Monday... back to work...
